Who We Are
The Scott Redevelopment and Housing Authority (SCRHA) was formed in 1972 and prides itself on administering housing and housing assistance to low-income persons and families within the County of Scott located in Southwest Virginia. SCRHA is a public body that exercises exclusively public and essential governmental functions and having all the powers necessary to carry out the purposes and previsions of the Housing Authorities Act.

The SCRHA is headed by the Executive Director and is governed by a five member Board of Commissioners which approves policies and finances and provides general direction to the SCRHA subject to the requirements of Title 24 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

SCRHA provides publicly assisted housing comprised of traditional Public Housing and Housing Choice Vouchers.

We have worked diligently to look beyond our public housing boundaries and began addressing how to transform not just the neighborhood but the people too. We recognized early on that a community is much more than a building and streets, but also its members.
